Each year Summit Hut hosts the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour, a collection of inspirational mountain culture films with an environmental message. This year's event is taking place over two days, March 24th and 25th, at the Fox Theatre. For the last few years, a portion of the proceeds has been donated back to our community; last year's grants totaled over $6,000.

This year, staff members took on the challenge of selecting five finalists from an amazing group of 20 applicants. The organizations selected were Friends of Saguaro National Park, Inner City Outings, Parks in Focus, Coalition for Sonoran Desert Protection and the Arizona Trail Association. These five organizations do a tremendous job of protecting our natural world and educating our community about the amazing environment around us. From conservation of natural wonders to maintaining the crown jewel of our state's trail system to introducing children to the great outdoors, their work is incredibly valuable to our community.

Through March 19th we will have a display in both of our Tucson stores asking customers to vote on the organization they feel deserves one of the two grants. Be sure to watch our Facebook page for updates on voting (http://SummitHut.com/facebook)!

The winners of two grants will be announced at the Banff Mountain Film Festival on Saturday, March 24th at the Fox Theatre.
