SAN FRANCISCO – Science in Sport, the leading sports nutrition company and makers of the world’s first Isotonic Energy Gel, today announced its sponsorship of the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, to be held on June 9, 2019, in San Francisco. Known for fueling elite athletes during training, racing, and recovery for endurance events, Science in Sport will sponsor the event by supplying on-course and event nutrition and hydration.
Science in Sport ambassador Ben Kanute, a 2016 Olympian and he 2017 and 2018 Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon Champion, will return to the race in 2019. Any athlete racing this year’s event can join Kanute for a shake-out run before the race. Additional event details to be released on scienceinsport.com in May 2019.
The Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon is a premier endurance event, consisting of a 1.5-mile swim from Alcatraz Island to San Francisco, an 18-mile cycling leg, and a 8-mile run through the trails of the Golden Gate Recreational Area. Science in Sport will supply GO Electrolyte Powders and the GO Energy Bars to all athletes contesting the event world class champions, Olympians, and amateur triathletes throughout the challenging course.
