SALT LAKE'S LUKE LARSEN OF LIFT HOUSE SKI SHOP WINS TRIP TO GERMANY IN LEKI USA QUICK TRIGGER COMPETITION

LAS VEGAS (Jan. 24, 2007) ¬- In a blistering show of manual dexterity, Luke Larsen, 25, a buyer at Lift House Ski Shop in Salt Lake City, clicked in and out of a row of 10 Trigger S ski pole grips in an outstanding combined time of 18.33 seconds after two runs, winning him a trip to LEKI headquarters in Germany and an 80GB iPod to pass the time on the flight over. Larsen also receives an aerobatic flight with LEKI owner Klaus Lenhart, Germany National Aerobatic Champion.

Larsen posted a single run of 8.62 seconds, the fastest single time on day two. This means he was able to click in and out of the ten Trigger S poles in less than a second each.

LEKI USA's Quick Trigger competition, which attracted dozens of competitors over a two-day period at the SIA Snowsports trade show in Las Vegas, was designed to demonstrate the ease of entry and exit, as well as the durability of the new Trigger S grip/strap system. The hand is firmly connected to the back of the pole grip with a removable Power strap containing a small yet fiercely strong corded loop made of Dyneema, one of the world's strongest fibers used in parachute cord and yacht racing. Skiers can either use the Power strap on their existing gloves or mittens, or purchase Trigger-ready handwear.

The pole grip features an auto release system which functions like a ski binding and releases under pressure. It also has a manual release button, helpful when removing poles for the lift ride up, or nailing a trade show competition.

Other retailers who received iPods in the competition were day one winners Patrick Bolduc, Piche's Ski & Sports, Gilford, N.H.; Daniel Cornish, Berger's Ski and Snowboard Shop, Binghamton, N.Y.; and Jeff Brown, Teton Village Sports, Teton Village, Wyo., placing first, second and third respectively.

On day two, the competition was won by Lift House's Luke Larsen. In second place was Tyler Conlin of Inland Sports, Layton, Utah, followed by Silas Beebe, HO Sports, Redmond, Wash. Larsen won the grand prize to Germany because he had the best combined time of any competitor.

LEKI USA, Inc., headquartered at 458 Sonwil Drive Buffalo, NY, is the sole North American distributor of LEKI brand Adjustable Nordic Walking Poles, Trekking Poles, Ski Poles, and Mountaineering Poles.
