(Denver – CO) – Rudy Project has introduced the newly developed Slicer and Helium ophthalmic eyewear collections, each boasting highly engineered frame materials and contemporary fashion-inspired designs, making these models a hot item in optical practices for the upcoming 2010 model year.

“As the leader in RX sports – a very technical and complicated area of the prescriptive eyewear industry – it is only natural for Rudy Project to extend our technical performance heritage to street wear,” said Paul Craig, President and Co-Founder of Rudy Project North America. “With Slicer and Helium, Rudy Project is introducing a line of lightweight ophthalmics that draw heavily from our technical performance models in sport while showing off our Italian side with fashion designs pulled right off the runways in Milan – something we are very proud to offer our lifestyle customers.”

The Slicer is available in a half-rimless design made of lightweight aluminum in two slightly different shapes to ensure a perfect fit and look. The Slicer also features Flex Hinge™ optical-grade hinges and, for a perfectly customized fit, 360-degree fully adjustable temples. A flip-up sunglass lens may be purchased separately as well as replacement temple tips and logo plaques in three colors.

The Helium features an ultra-thin stainless steel frame construction in four variations: Full-rim and rimless versions each with two shapes to provide options for differing face shapes. The rimless models feature Rudy Project’s exclusive compression mount system making it possible to secure the lenses without using screws. Like the Slicer, the 360-degree fully adjustable temples give the Helium the ability to provide a custom fit for perfect comfort, adaptability and performance.

As with all Rudy Project prescription glasses, the Slicer and Helium are ideal when coupled with Rudy Project’s perfected ImpactRX™ FreeForm TEK™ prescription technology that custom tailors each lens to the patient’s eyes. This results in the best corrected vision in the world while offering an increase of up to a 20% wider field of vision while providing a lens born from Apache attack helicopter windshield technology that is truly UNBREAKABLE.

The Slicer and Helium are both available in the colors of Gun or Aluminum. To find out more about Rudy Project’s extensive line of ophthalmic, lifestyle and sport eyewear, FreeForm TEK™ lenses and helmet designs, or to find a dealer near you, please visit www.rudyprojectusa.com.
