Outdoor Research, manufacturer of functional solutions for human powered adventure, unveiled its 2010 ice climbing events calendar. Outdoor Research is taking part in five events including: Ouray Ice Festival in Ouray, CO; Adirondack International Mountain Festival in Keene Valley, NY; Smugglers Notch Ice Bash in Smugglers Notch, VT; Mt. Washington Valley Ice Fest in North Conway, New Hampshire; and the Knuckle Basher Ice Fest in Canmore, Alberta, Canada.

Alex Kutches, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, said, “The OR team is deeply committed to meeting the product needs of ice climbers. These ice climbing festivals are the perfect venue to connect directly with our consumers. We learn from their valuable feedback and we can show them our products while helping them build and improve their climbing skills and techniques.”

Outdoor Research Ambassadors and Connectors, a group of professional guides and experienced outdoor athletes, will lead clinics, slideshows, demos and seminars at all of the events. “We have some of the most talented and supportive Ambassadors and Connectors in the industry,” said Kutches. “Since many of them are professional guides, they are fantastic instructors as well as excellent athletes – a great mix for teaching the skills ice climbing requires.”

Outdoor Research staff will also be on hand to showcase and demo its rich assortment of handwear, gaiters and apparel for participants to try during the events.

Outdoor Research’s ice climbing events calendar, which is available at OR’s newly revamped VertiCulture site: outdoorresearchverticulture.com/events, includes:
