Pakems, creators of the world’s most unique lightweight and packable boots, has recently signed SMAK Strategies as their public relations agency of record. SMAK will spearhead media relations as the company embraces a fresh start in 2019, buoyed by new partners, revamped sales and marketing strategies, and a stand-out product line.

Founded in Denver, CO in 2011, the idea for Pakems came to company founder Julie Adams while she was on a ski trip in Cortina, Italy. As she tried to enjoy a mountain-top après-ski cocktail, Julie’s feet ached from her ski boots. In that moment, all she wanted was a cozy, lightweight, packable pair of shoes to put on at that exact moment so her feet could feel good.

The idea stuck with her, and after months of market research and prototype designs, Julie officially launched Pakems in June 2011. Eight years later, the company offers a complete line of lightweight, packable shoes and boots for men, women, and kids.
