Lift23 Corp., manufacturers of the world’s most comfortable ski socks, has partnered with Peter Glenn ski shops in Florida to complete the first of two sock drops of 600 pairs of Lift23-designed to His House Children’s Home in Miami, FL.
Lift 23 partners with its retailers to provide a pair of socks to children in need for every pair of ski/snow socks sold. Originally conceived to provide socks - the most requested and least donated item - to the over 23,000 homeless children in New York City shelters, Lift23 has partnered with key retailers to expand sock donations to needy children in more cities where Lift 23 socks are sold.
Lift 23’s Founder Ed Del Guercio recently visited Florida and met with management and staff at Peter Glenn’s Florida locations, and visited His House to donate an initial 600 pairs of socks and take a tour of the facility. As part of Lift23’s sustainable business model, the company strives to bring visibility to the children and causes they support, as well as build relationships with retailers that go beyond spreadsheets to jointly becoming involved with and providing for community needs.
During the visit, all parties showed excitement about working together, learning more about each other, and watching the donation set up come to life. “It was overwhelming hearing the enthusiasm from the Peter Glenn employees about partnering with His House,” says Del Guercio. “Many members of the staff expressed a desire to visit His House for the next donation, and wanted to know how they could help His House’s cause. I am thrilled to not only be able to donate socks to these deserving kids, but to get more people involved in His House’s mission.”
“We are so thankful that Lift 23 and Peter Glenn have chosen to partner with His House,” said Sandra Sanchez, Development Department Manager at His House Children’s Home. “Our kids are always in need of socks and they love the ones Lift 23 gave them. It was a great beginning to the holiday season.”
Lift 23 designed the donation socks in collaboration with the NYC Department of Homeless Services, to best fit the needs of the kids. Lift 23 both distributes socks to children in need through “sock drops” and organizes, sponsors and participates in fun activities with the kids that they might not otherwise get to try, like bowling and golf.
