Los Angeles, CA – Hyland’s, a leader in natural medicines, is pleased to announce their title sponsorship with the 2012 Run For All Ages, a 5K race and all-day event held in Wakefield, MA on Saturday, November 3, 2012.
Created by the New England 65 Plus Runners Club, the Run For All Ages is held each year in Wakefield, MA to support fitness across generations. Specifically, the race provides an opportunity for very young runners to compete and share in the fun and excitement of a road race. This year, they expect 400 to 500 participants on race day.
Described as flat, fast, and scenic, the 5K course that loops around Lake Quannapowitt is open to anyone. So far this year, the youngest runner registered is 6 years old and the oldest is 91! All proceeds benefit the Wakefield Educational Foundation, a local non-profit whose mission is to provide an enriching educational environment for children.
“We are excited to pair with an event that exemplifies the motto of our wellness initiative program, Be There, Do That,” remarks Thao Le, Hyland’s V.P. of Marketing. “The Run For All Ages event and the 65 Plus Runners Club members inspire individuals to live life to the fullest by not letting age hold them back.”
The 65 Plus New England Runners Club has become the perfect outlet for individuals 65 and older who wish to stay active. The Club strives to achieve greater recognition for their growing group of senior athletes by encouraging race directors and sponsors to include age categories in their events at least up to 70 years of age. Prior to the organization of the club, most athletic events failed to have age categories beyond 50+. The club has made great strides in this endeavor. With their determination and perseverance, more than 95 percent of athletic events in New England now include age divisions of 60, 70, and even 80.
