October 4, 2013 – St. George, UT – This year’s Huntsman World Senior Games run from October 7 – 19 in St. George, Utah. Over 10,000 athletes from around the world are expected to participate in 122 events. Hyland’s, the nation’s oldest and largest homeopathic medicine manufacturer, is participating for the second year in a row as Silver Medal Sponsor.

“The senior and baby boomer athletes who compete in these games really embody our ‘Be There, Do That’ philosophy of living each day to the fullest and we’re proud to support them.” says Thao Le, Vice President of Marketing for Hyland’s. “We want to give these athletes the tools they need to continue to lead active, healthy lives.”

At age 62, NZ Bryant can’t compete in the Olympics, but the sprinter from Orchard Lake, Michigan broke an age-class world record for the 50m at the Huntsman World Senior Games in 2012. The event, held annually in St. George, Utah, brings top athletes age 50 and older together to compete in 26 different sports ranging from track and field and swimming to “pickleball,” a paddle sport hybrid of badminton, wiffle ball and tennis that is rapidly growing in popularity throughout the United States.

In addition to athletic competition, the goals of the Games include promotion of world unity and health and wellness. Since the first Games in 1987, an estimated 150,000 athletes from 66 countries have participated.

Hyland’s will be sampling #1 Pharmacist Recommended[1] Leg Cramps™ and Leg Cramps PM at its booths, as well as other Hyland’s active products. Hyland’s Leg Cramps is a traditional homeopathic formula that stimulates the body’s natural healing response to relieve symptoms of leg pain and cramps without contraindications or side effects.[2]

Athletes can also have their photo made into a digital Huntsman Games All-Star Trading Card they can share with family and friends. And as the social media sphere ever widens, Hyland’s will be supporting boomers and seniors who want to get in on the fun. Hyland’s is holding a Facebook giveaway for the chance to win free entries to next year’s World Senior Games, among other prizes. Hyland’s representatives will be on hand to help athletes email their photos to their loved ones, sharing their passion and inspiration.

To get a sense of what one experiences at Huntsman, meet George Tosatti. A Huntsman World Senior Games athlete and runner, George loves competing in the Games. He shares how running has transformed his life. “I started running at age 50. I’m 77 years old, and I’ve been running for 27 years. I’m convinced it keeps me healthy. I think it proves to me that you can do anything if you put your mind to it and take care of yourself. To me it’s a lifetime endeavor. I’m not going to stop and I plan to continue as long as I can.”
