GoLite is proud to announce that its Chrome Dome umbrella has received the “Best of Adventure” award from National Geographic Adventure Magazine. In addition to being named a “Best of Adventure” winner, the Chrome Dome was also highlighted in 2006 as a National Geographic “Best Value” as well.

GoLite's Chrome Dome and Dome umbrellas are long-time favorites of backpackers and travelers, providing rain and sun protection with an extremely sturdy, ultra-lite full-stick design. With a metallicized canopy, the Chrome Dome blocks and reflects the sun's radiation, making it excellent protection from desert sun and high altitude UV rays.

GoLite's innovative new Sun Dragon trail running shoe also received a “Best of Adventure” award from National Geographic Adventure. See more information on this award in a separate press release.

“We're honored to receive these awards from National Geographic Adventure,” said GoLite's co-founder and President Demetri Coupounas. “While one doesn't typically think of an umbrella as innovative outdoor gear, our Chrome Dome truly is innovative in both design and use, and it directly improves a person's experience outdoors. With the Invention Factory and GoLite's design ethos behind it, the Sun Dragon trail running shoe is truly ground-breaking. It's a thrill to have two of GoLite's products recognized by such a fine organization as National Geographic.”

The complete list of National Geographic “Best of Adventure” Award winners, which includes gear, athletes, and lifetime achievements, can be found in the magazine's December/January issue, on newsstands now.
