Easley, S.C.– The editors of “National Geographic ADVENTURE” have awarded ‘Best of Adventure Gear' to the Dagger Axis 12.0. The new Axis 12.0 kayak was called out for its versatility and performance, among a host of outdoor products deemed “the must-have gear picks” for 2010.

“We want to thank the editors for this fantastic honor,” said Sue Rechner, CEO of Dagger and Confluence Watersports. “We are thrilled for the Axis to be recognized by ‘National Geographic ADVENTURE.' The magazine embodies exploration and discovery, and the Axis was designed to encourage them.”

The adaptable Dagger Axis 12.0 is designed to move seamlessly from calm water to moving water, making it an ideal boat for a novice kayaker or an intermediate boater who seeks a one-boat quiver. The whitewater-inspired elements of the design, such as a significant rocker profile, make for a maneuverable kayak in whitewater and rocky, slow-moving waters. Plus, the Axis tracks well on flatwater with the drop-down skeg and carries good speed for its 12-foot length.

The esteemed, annual ‘Best of Adventure' issue is on sale now, with highlights online at: http://adventure.nationalgeographic.com/2009/12/best-of-adventure/gear-photo-gallery.

The Dagger Axis 12.0 is available now at your local specialty, kayak dealer and retails for $895.00. To check out the Axis online, visit: www.dagger.com.
