Following a successful debut at the 2006 Summer Outdoor Retailer Show in August, GoLite® footwear has recently received the Best of Adventure 2007 award from the National Geographic Adventure magazine. The Sun Dragon model was selected as the trail running shoe of choice in the December 2006/January 2007 issue of the magazine.

“It's an honor to receive this recognition from National Geographic, a highly respected organization and publication within the outdoor industry,” stated Bill Dodge, General Manager of GoLite Footwear. “This award confirms GoLite Footwear's commitment to continue innovating and addressing the needs of an important segment of the outdoor population – trail runners.”

"GoLite once again changes the game by questioning conventional wisdom. Its innovative new running shoes reverse traditional construction by making the tread softer and mid-sole stiffer. The result is a trail shoe that better absorbs bumps, yet still provides all the support the foot needs," says National Geographic Adventure West Coast Editor Steve Casimiro.

The game changing technology is better known as metamorphic suspension – a concept founded by the Invention Factory, the premier footwear lab housed within The Timberland Company. This idea of ‘Soft Against the Ground' has produced the two primary outsole constructions found on the GoLite® shoes – Isomorphic Suspension™ system and Amorphic Suspension™ system.

Along with an outsole system designed to keep the body stable, GoLite® shoes also feature NEOform™ seamless upper, a revolutionary patent-pending outer casing that protects the foot from bruises and scratches. Another unique feature is the PreciseFit™ system, a patent-pending adjustable insole system that allows the wearer to customize the interior volume of the shoe for a more personalized fit.

GoLite® footwear will be introducing four new models for Fall 2007 at the upcoming Winter Outdoor Retailer Show, January 27-30, 2007, in Salt Lake City (Booth # 24001).
