More than 1,700 riders from more than 20 countries around the world participated, besting April’s inaugural Bike for Humanity event in both categories.

Joining Walton in participating in the event were marathon legend Meb Keflezighi, winner of the Boston Marathon and New York City Marathon, who rode 26.2 miles on his ElliptiGO long-stride bike in Tampa, Florida and world famous ultramarathoner Dean Karnazes, who rode 20 miles on his ElliptiGO MSUB in Marin, California.

“We could not have been more honored to be the title sponsor of the ElliptiGO Bike for Humanity II event,” said Bryan Pate, CEO of ElliptiGO. “This quickly became the most engaging ElliptiGO event we’ve ever seen, with more than 1,000 ElliptiGO riders participating, 19 of whom rode 100 miles or more as part of the event! It was great to see our global community come together with such energy and enthusiasm, and we were happy to support so many great organizations.”

In keeping with social distancing practices, all ElliptiGO Bike for Humanity II participants were empowered to choose where, when and how far to ride on July 25 and were encouraged to ride alone or stay at least 6’11”, Bill Walton’s height, apart during the ride. ElliptiGO riders helped raise over $30,000 towards the cause, and all proceeds from the ElliptiGO Bike for Humanity II event benefited The Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Free Bikes 4 Kidz, No Kid Hungry and The Rex Foundation.
