Chums Releases Limited Edition Artist Series

Designed by endurance athlete and artist, Kelly Halpin, proceeds from the capsule collection give back to the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance.

Chums, travel and active lifestyle accessory producer, announced today the release of their limited edition Artist Series with a collection designed by Kelly Halpin. The first of the series, Halpin’s collection includes custom LTD and neoprene eyewear retainers, custom Surfshort Wallet, and trucker hat.

Chums created the Artist Series to bring fresh patterns and stories to their adventure accessories such as eyewear retainers, t-shirts, wallets and more. “The Artist Series allows us to showcase athletes, like Halpin, in a new light, while giving them the opportunity to create something special,” says Colleen Gilligan, Director of Marketing for Chums and Beyond Coastal. “The project brings fresh energy to the brand.” Halpin will be donating the net proceeds from her collection to Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance due to the organization’s long-standing mission to protect the desert wilderness.

An endurance athlete and artist based in both Jackson, Wyoming and Moab, Utah, Halpin merges her passions for running, climbing, travel and exploring remote and wild places. Her inspiration for the Artist Series designs stemmed from her love of Utah’s southern landscape. “I love the beauty of the canyons, mountains, and rivers of the region,” she says. “The illustration is meant to bring you into that landscape with strong lines and the bright colors of the region – red, orange and turquoise.”

Halpin’s collection will be followed by a series designed by artist and outdoorsman, Andy Earl. “We are thrilled to work alongside athletes and artists in a different way,” says Gilligan. “This project provides a great platform to share stories and give back to our communities”.

“Hopefully this project,” says Halpin, “will help bring people a little closer to the Utah redrock wilderness and get them geared up for their own adventures with awesome products.”
