Backwoods - Trekking to Austin, TX
Backwoods is making the trek to Austin in the 1st quarter of 2008, as a strategic move to support its growth over the past 5 years, and its' future expansion plans. Austin is a strong market for the outdoor industry and provides an attractive location for the headquarters, while allowing the corporate office to remain in the retail territory. Among other initiatives, Backwoods plans call for expansion of the adventure travel division and additional stores in the Midwest. The new corporate office will be located on 4th and Congress in downtown Austin.
In addition to moving the corporate office to Austin, Backwoods will also open a retail location in the Hill Country Galleria, in early March, 2008. The store will offer high-quality clothing, footwear, and equipment for the active, urban dweller, and the extreme outdoor adventurer. It will provide products for “everyday around town use†as well as have comprehensive travel, camping, hiking, backpacking, paddle sports, and climbing departments.
Backwoods professionals will continue to share their expertise, provide exceptional products, and encourage people to live their lives boldly out in the world. Backwoods strives to bring to market innovative products that speak to their customer's sense of style, function and love of the outdoors.
