(Vancouver, BC) – British Columbia-based outerwear manufacturer and retailer Arc’teryx continues to deliver on its global commitment of supporting high-performance organizations with the announcement of three-year partnership with the British Columbia Search and Rescue Association (BCSARA).

Under the agreement, Arc’teryx is recognized as the official outerwear sponsor for the BCSARA and will provide a range of clothing wear including soft and hard-shells, thermal underwear, gloves, and backpacks.

“The professional volunteers that donate their time to search and rescue organizations don’t have time to focus on anything other than helping others when it matters. Working at the frontline, we’re here to keep everyone warm and dry regardless of the conditions,” said James Bronson, Pro & Industry Sales Supervisor.

The BCSARA represents 2,500 unpaid professional volunteers from volunteer search and rescue teams across British Columbia. In any given year, search and rescue groups across BC respond to nearly 1,300 incidents annually.

“Together, these men and women donate over 100,000 hours of their time on callouts annually. They need high quality, performance gear that protects them from the elements, but also gives them the freedom to do what they need to do,” Chris Armstrong, Marketing and Communications, BCSARA says. “We know Arc’teryx is the best outdoor apparel manufacturer to deliver on what we need and we’re certainly looking forward to putting them to the test.”

The BCSARA has a strong search and rescue success rate with an astounding 95 per cent of subjects found or rescued within the first 24 hours of a volunteer SAR group being activated.
