Grassroots Outdoor Alliance announced today the bi-annual Connect buying show will move to Denver beginning this November. The spring show will still be held in Knoxville as planned.

There had been talk of the show co-locating with Outdoor Retailer last year, but in June, Grassroots announced they had plans to move the show back to Tennessee for summer 2018.

The organization confirmed that the show will now take place at the Colorado Convention Center and from November 4 to 7 , 2018, which is immediately prior to Outdoor Retailer Winter Market (November 8 to 11, 2018).

“The big news here is obviously that Grassroots Connect has nailed down a great hotel (the Grand Hyatt) and facility for their buying show. But from an industry perspective, this is a pretty major simplification of the trade show calendar with real benefits for Grassroots members, vendors, and the entire outdoor industry,” said Drew Simmons, Grassroots spokesperson.

Outdoor retailer is just three weeks away. Are you ready?

Rich Hill, president of Grassroots Outdoor Alliance, says bringing Connect to Denver is a strong step forward. “It simplifies the industry calendar, provides financial efficiencies for Grassroots members and vendors, and delivers unquestionable value for those looking to do both buying and market discovery in a single location,” Hill says.

Marisa Nicholson, Outdoor Retailer Show director, says her team is truly looking forward to a closer relationship with the independent retailers of Grassroots Outdoor Alliance.

Amy Roberts, president of Outdoor Industry Association feels this move bringing Grassroots Connect and Outdoor Retailer closer is an opportunity for the industry to refocus, recommit and re-acquaint with the shared values that continue to support industry health.

“Our industry is always more powerful when we come together,” said Roberts in a statement.
