Grassroots Outdoor Alliance moves back to Tennessee, for now

With Outdoor Retailer's future location still up in the air, Grassroots will move its Connect trade show back to Knoxville for the spring 2018 show.

It was supposed to be the mother of all outdoor trade shows, a behemoth turning Outdoor Retailer and Grassroots Outdoor Alliance Connect from two short sprints into one long marathon as early as spring 2018.

But Grassroots Outdoor Alliance announced today that it will move its Connect trade show back to Tennessee next summer, instead of co-locating, for the first time, with Outdoor Retailer

“The goal for Grassroots Outdoor Alliance is to co-locate with Outdoor Retailer as soon as possible, but in the short term we need to take care of our immediate business needs,” Grassroots Outdoor Alliance President Rich Hill said in a press release.

Grassroots needs to ensure that its members will be able to book travel and hotels for the trade show, and Outdoor Retailer has yet to announce its new location.

The dates of Grassroots's upcoming invitation-only trade shows are as follows:

June 12-16, 2017: Albuquerque, New Mexico

Nov. 7-10, 2017: Knoxville, Tenn.

June 14-17, 2018: Knoxville, Tenn.
