Polartec is an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of insulating fabrics for outdoor pursuits. In 1981, their synthetic fleece innovation was named one of the twentieth century's greatest inventions by Time magazine.
The company embeds sustainability in their design process and recently introduced a 100-percent post-consumer recycled (PCR) Power Fill insulation. This insulation is currently used in apparel made by Bight Gear and Triple Aught Design.
According to the company, it has upcycled more than one billion consumer plastic bottles into hundreds of fabric styles and category-creating platforms. Polartec is used in apparel sold by a tremendous variety of brands, including adidas, Columbia Sportswear, L.L. Bean and The North Face.
