Camber Outdoors is dedicated to increasing inclusion, equity and diversity throughout the workplaces that comprise the $887 billion outdoor recreation economy. Founded in 1996 (formerly the Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition, or OIWC) to promote leadership and advancement opportunities for women, the organization responded to evolving needs of the industry—which currently employs more than seven million individuals—and moved in 2018 to provide systemic operational supports that promote inclusion, equity, and diversity across communities who have been persistently underrepresented in workplaces of the active-outdoors.
Camber Outdoors currently offers programs to support a community of corporate leaders and partners as they build great workplaces with an equitable and inclusive lens. Content is targeted for multiple workplace audiences and program learning tracks include Inclusive Culture, Equitable Workplaces, Future of Work—Reimagining the Inclusive, Equitable and Diverse Workplace, Data & Insights, and Talent Pipeline.
Deanne Buck was the the executive director from June 2012 to February 2019, when she resigned. Diana Seung served as interim executive director from February 2019 to September 2019. Emily Newman currently serves as Executive Director.
