Growth Continues as The Conservation Alliance Pushes to Grow Grant Fund and Politics Shift
Bend, Ore., January 25, 2017 – Fourteen companies have joined The Conservation Alliance since August 2016. This growth strengthens the organization as the political landscape for conservation in the U.S. becomes more challenging.
The new members include: Bogs Footwear; Deschutes Brewery; Good To-Go; Hed-Hi Media; Kathoola; NEMO Equipment; Outdoor Project; Pacific Overlander; Race SLO; Royal Robbins; SHIFT; Stingray Eyewear; Ultimate Direction; and Uncage the Soul.
The Conservation Alliance is excited to welcome these companies to a list of more than 200 outdoor industry and associated members companies. Each member company pays annual dues into a central fund, and The Conservation Alliance donates those funds to grassroots conservation organizations. The Conservation Alliance donated an all-time high $1.61 million in 2016.

The new members include a wide range of outdoor industry stakeholders – including manufacturers of outdoor apparel, footwear and nutrition, online recreation news, to media consultants, and craft brewing.
“We are proud to maintain such a diverse membership of companies that comprise the outdoor industry,” said Sterling. “Conservation is one issue that most brands in the industry agree is a top priority. Together, we are working to protect our last wild places.”

Membership in the Alliance is open to companies representing all aspects of the outdoor industry, including manufacturers, retailers, publishers, mills and sales representatives. The result is a diverse group of businesses whose livelihood depends on protecting our natural environment.
Since 1989, The Conservation Alliance has contributed more than $17 million in grants that have helped protect 50 million acres, 2,991 river miles, remove or halt 29 dams, acquire 12 climbing areas & designate five marine reserves.
