TEKO, the innovation leader in sustainable, high performance socks, is pleased to announce that the company received the Sportfack Magazine 2008 Gear of the Year Award as outstanding “Newcomer”. The awards ceremony took place the first night of the Swesport trade show earlier this month in Stockholm.

TEKO was awarded this year's “Newcomer” Award for its entry into the Swedish market. In selecting winners in the eleven categories, the jury looked for products that combine high functionality, smart design and strong sales. The jury recognized TEKO for being an outstanding new brand in the Swedish market as well as recognizing the company's contribution to the global sports industry as a whole. The jurors acknowledged that “by taking the environmental issue to a whole new level TEKO shows the rest of the industry the only way forward.”

“TEKO is honored to be recognized by Sweden's leading outdoor magazine for our commitment to producing highly technical socks while minimizing the impact on the environment,” said Chip Coe, CEO of TEKO. “We feel there is a solid place in the market for eco-conscious performance outdoor socks, and we are pleased that today's discerning consumers clearly agree.”
