Lynnwood, Wash. – SOG Specialty Knives & Tools heads to the 2014 Outdoor Retailer Summer trade show with a range of new products including a beefed-up illumination line, a new addition to the lighted-blade family and a new iteration of SOG’s proprietary Assisted Technology™. SOG will be at booth #120 at the OR show in Salt Lake City.
“The new lights in our Dark Energy range will meet or exceed the needs of even the most demanding campers and outdoor enthusiasts,” said Nando Zucchi, SOG’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “And the addition of a lighted-blade knife and a new assisted-opening knife enrich our already deep line of knives and tools.”
The Dark Energy line features six models with a cool white Cree R5 LED bulb, optical grade polycarbonate lens and textured aluminum reflector. Protected against water immersion, the lights have water resistance rating of IPX-7 and rugged aluminum bodies. All the lights have four modes (100 percent, 40 percent, reading and strobe).
The crown jewel of SOG’s flashlight line is the new Dark Energy 750A that emits a dazzling 750 lumens. Featuring a rechargeable 18650 battery, the Dark Energy is designed for professional and tactical situations. At 6 inches in length and weighing in below 7 ounces, this rugged light excels in the most challenging conditions. With an MSRP of $174, the Dark Energy 750A is designed for a very specific end-user.
Geared toward hikers and campers, the Dark Energy 200A comes to retailers with an MSRP of $70. The 200A runs on a pair of AA batteries and at 6.45 inches is perfect for anyone needing a bright light around the house or campsite. Perfect for those who need a small light for quick uses, the Dark Energy 120A uses just one AA battery and weighs less than four ounces, with an MSRP of $58.
SOG adds to the award-winning Bladelight family with the Bladelight Camp. Six intensely bright LED lights (three on each side of the blade) produce 37 lumens – perfect for sharpening a marshmallow stick or lighting the way to the outhouse. Two AAA batteries provide over four hours of burn time. A sheath is included.
Zoom Mini is newest in a line of lightweight folding knives that open using SOG’s patented Assisted Technology™. The Mini, with a blade length of 3.6-inches, is a snap to open with one just one hand, and the aluminum handle keeps it light and nimble. With a low profile and reversible pocket clip, it’s a perfect choice for everyday carry.
