BOZEMAN, Montana – Fishing guides are among the most hardcore men and women around. Kids look up to them, adults want to be them. From tying flies, to catching bruisers, a good fishing guide is worth his or her weight in gold. Simms understands this.
So, from April 25-27, a selection of the best fly fishing guides alive will descend on Bozeman, Mont., for the fourth annual “Simms ICE OUT Guide Event”, a three-day professional retreat aimed at improving and empowering North America’s finest fishing guides.
The ICE OUT Guide Event is set to feature a handful of informative seminars and workshops, ranging in subject from casting instruction, to entomology, to business development. And after the seminars, guides are invited to join Simms for sponsored parties, live music and happy hours.
On Friday, qualified guides will compete in the Guide Olympics, casting and mending their way to the podium. The top angler walks away with cash.
All members of the Simms Pro Program are invited to attend this great opportunity for no-holds-barred professional development. Simms has even arranged for discounted room rates at a selection of Bozeman hotels. The event is free of charge.
“We see the fishing industry as integral part of the outdoor world,” said Diane Bristol, Senior Director of Marketing and Brand Management for Simms. “Guides are a critical link between us, the manufacturer, and the end-user of our products. Their feedback is critical to Simms. We devised the ICE OUT Guide Event to help make fishing guides and our products better.”
