BOZEMAN, Montana – Simms Fishing Products, manufacturer of fly-fishing gear for serious and dedicated anglers, was named “2009 Business of the Year” by the Prospera Business Network at the organization’s 24th annual awards dinner held November 12.
Prospera, formerly the Gallatin Development Corporation, is a private, nonprofit organization that provides economic development services in the fast-growing region of southwestern Montana.
Simms was honored in recognition of its “industry-leading vision” and commitment to manufacturing in Bozeman.
“Simms is a globally recognized brand that manufactures (its) world-renowned line of fly-fishing waders right here in Bozeman,” Dennis Dixon of Zoot Enterprises said while presenting the award. “We salute Simms for their commitment to manufacturing in Bozeman and for their generous support of the local community.”
K.C. Walsh, president of Simms, said his company was honored to accept the award and lauded Prospera for its work in the region.
“This is a very special recognition for us,” said Walsh.“It underscores both Simms’ tradition of producing waders in the U.S. and recognizes our growing position as a global leader in the fishing apparel market.”
