Pursuit Series Drives Impact Initiatives With Partner Brands - SNEWS

San Francisco, CA, August 28, 2018 -- Leading digital outdoors platform The Outbound Collective’s adventure weekend series, Pursuit Series, worked with its 40+ brand partners to ensure that many communities benefited from the activations provided over the two ‘adult summer camp’ events for 2018. The mission and ethos of Pursuit Series is to empower people in the outdoors, fostering a strong and supportive community, with an emphasis on environmental and social responsibility.

At the two events in 2018, in Hunter Mountain, NY June 30 - July 1 and Bear Valley, CA August 10 - 12, brands came together at Pursuit Series to offer attendees an all-inclusive outdoors and educational getaway, with dozens of activities and opportunities. From solar-powered charging stations provided by Inergy, and recycling facilities dotted around the Pursuit Village, to refillable water stations and bottles provided by Igloo, and Luci solar-powered lights illuminating the Pursuit Village and the campgrounds from MPOWERD Luci Lights, The Outbound’s Pursuit aimed to address environmental responsibility in multiple capacities.

Inergy provided more than 30 Kodiak solar generators, camp wide charging stations, power to each vendor, and lighting for the main festival tents from solar power. The Pursuit Series Guide shack, media tent, and first aid tent were all powered by Inergy. The bike lights for Trek Bicycles’ night ride, one of the most popular activations of the weekend, were charged on Inergy gear, and about 35 Kilowatts of power was deployed for each day. Along with providing power as a luxury in the backcountry, Inergy, in line with their, mission donates solar generator units to parts of the globe without power. Inergy’s most recent project, the #EmpowerPuertoRico campaign, will provide over $50,000 worth of product to families still without power after Puerto Rico’s Hurricane Maria by matching for donation each product purchased during most of the month of July.

MPOWERD and the Outbound Pursuit Series partnered to provide all of the inflatable and solar-powered Luci Lights used in the Pursuit Series event this year to Africa Hope Fund, who delivers light to those without reliable electricity in Zambia. The Africa Hope Fund is a non-profit group dedicated to helping the people in Zambia through educational grants and funding anti-poaching initiatives through Conservation South Luangwa and Chipembele Wildlife Education Trust. The 270 Luci Lights from Pursuit Series will provide a valuable light source for students to study at night, and for the scouts to use when on patrol while searching for snares and traps left behind by poachers. MPOWERD and Pursuit Series are proud of this partnership and see it as a great example of the ability to collectively improve over 3 million lives since MPOWERD was founded in 2012.

During the event local and regional wildfires were closely monitored and upon completion of Pursuit Series, remaining cases of Red Bull and a large number of Mountain House meals were donated to the firefighters in the Pacific Northwest, who risked their lives to protect land and homes. Additionally, a number of essential items were donated to homeless shelters, and outdoors gear to organizations such as Latino Outdoors.
