Oboz and Hudson Trail Outfitters, LTD will bring trees to their customers during the retailer's Earth Day Birthday Bash on April 18-20th.

Oboz, the new outdoor footwear brand from Bozeman,Montana, has joined with Hudson Trail Outfitters, LTD to bring trees to its customers, just in time for planting on Earth Day. The ‘One More Tree' event will take place at the Hudson Trail Outfitters, LTD Rockville store during the Earth Day Birthday Bash throughout the weekend of April 18-20—just prior to Earth Day, which falls on April 22nd. The Rockville store is located at 12085 Rockville Pike, in Rockville, Maryland 20852.

During the One More Tree events, every customer in the Rockville store who tries on a pair of Oboz footwear will receive a tree seedling to take home and plant.

Online customers will also have a chance to plant a tree – virtually. Any shopper who purchases a pair of Oboz footwear from Hudson Trail Outfitters, LTD's online store (www.hudsontrail.com) during April 18-20 will have a tree planted in their name in the Gallatin National Forest south of Bozeman, Montana, where, in 2001, the Purdy fire destroyed 5,000 acres of forest. The buyer will receive a digital certificate recognizing their contribution to healing this damaged natural resource.

Environmental sustainability is a philosophical cornerstone of both Oboz and Hudson Trail Outfitters, LTD. The ‘One More Tree' initiative is a visible extension of Oboz's commitment to plant a tree for every pair of shoes sold in 2008. Oboz supports Trees for the Future (www.plant-trees.org) which helps people in developing countries improve their livelihoods through the introduction of sustainable land management projects focused on beneficial tree planting. Since 1988, Trees for the Future has helped thousands of communities in Central America, Africa, and Asia and has planted nearly 50 million trees, which remove approximately one million tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere each year.

The Hudson Trail Outfitters, LTD motto for over 40 years has always been ‘Save the Wilderness' and this is a commitment that they take very seriously. For years this active outdoor retailer has hosted major Earth Day events in the nation's capital and in support of the local conservation organizations; a portion of their event proceeds are donated to environmental efforts in some instances. Partnering with Oboz on this project enables both companies the ability to give back, and to ensure that our kids have clean air to breath, forests to hike in and, more wilderness to explore.
