Düsseldorf/ Essen. FIBO continues to expand as Europe’s leading trade show in the industry with investments in the millions, new service offers and the expansion of its international presence. The aim, according to FIBO Event Director Olaf Tomscheit, is to further improve the quality and international reach of FIBO with a broad investment programme. “Now is the time, in challenging economic conditions, that we must set the course that will define the future of the industry,” added Olaf Tomscheit, who took over at FIBO in 2006 and has guided it back to success.
Electronic, digital, international and powerful: FIBO will be celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2010 and is starting its jubilee year with a broad market and service offensive. The world’s leading fitness trade show will be launching an investment programme that is aimed at consolidating and expanding its market position in the future. “More service and new sales op¬portunities: That basically sums up the overall package,” according to Olaf Tomscheit, who intends to also maintain the set course of internationalization and customer orientation during his fifth year in charge of FIBO. “We want to lay a foundation that offers our customers new sales opportunities.”
A good example of internationalization, which has already witnessed a significant expansion during the past years, is the establishment of another representation abroad. The new office in Great Britain aims to push forward the central recruitment of visitors in the future. The concept of ‘FIBO Ambassadors’ on the other hand is an entirely new one: The aim is for them to provide FIBO with a well-known, familiar face abroad and to represent it as popular ‘PR ambassadors’. The new VIP programme for international trade visitors will focus on key account customers and help ensure a more convenient and comfortable journey to Essen in the future. This will include a new shuttle service between Düsseldorf Airport and the Essen Exhibition Centre.
New visitor registration
New sales opportunities, additional contact with customers and a major plus in service in the future will be ensured by two major online projects, which were developed with a great deal of effort during the past months. The new electronic visitor registration system, which will be going live at the coming FIBO, will focus on customer proximity and improved service. The integrated online ticketing tool offers a new trade show experience that focuses on one thing: To spend as much useful time as possible at the fair. This will make visiting the trade show a lot simpler and, for those that register and buy their tickets online, also cheaper.
FIBO FINDER as the new online search engine
FIBO FINDER is an online platform that is entirely new in this form in the fitness industry. For the first time companies and business customers will be able to use a complete product and manufacturers‘ directory that allows them to search and contact manufacturers directly about specific products all year round.
