VANTAA, Finland - April 4, 2018
Suunto announces today that its new Suunto 3 Fitness watch will be available at retail from April 25th. Designed for people who lead an active lifestyle and value health and well-being, the new fitness watch delivers an innovative adaptive training plan based on your individual fitness level, and together with daily stress and recovery monitoring, helps you to maintain a healthy balance between activity and rest.
Suunto 3 Fitness is supplemented with a new Suunto app that provides a log of your activities and rest, and connected GPS for tracking speed, distance and your route.
Beautifully robust design for everyday wear
Suunto 3 Fitness is equally suitable for versatile training and for wearing as an elegant timepiece. “In design we always rely on the key design elements of Suunto: robustness, accuracy and reliability, but with Suunto 3 Fitness, we wanted to look even further. We designed it to be smaller and lighter than any of our previous connected sports watches,” explains Suunto Design Manager Timo Yliluoma. “The minimalistic stainless steel bezel gives a durable, yet beautiful face to the watch while the small-size, rounded case and soft strap make it light and comfortable to wear day and night. This is why we call Suunto 3 Fitness beautifully robust.”
Training plan and guidance that adapt to you
Exercising with Suunto 3 Fitness is easy. Based on your personal profile, the watch creates a 7-day training plan with optimal duration and intensity for each exercise to improve fitness. The planned exercises are easy to activate and follow, and once started, the watch guides you to stay at the right intensity and notifies when you have reached the target. If you prefer to exercise without guidance, you can also do that.
After a couple of exercises, the watch evaluates your fitness level. The exercise recommendations are based on your current fitness level and recorded training history. Suunto 3 Fitness automatically adapts the training plan to your actual activities, so if you miss an exercise, or get excited and do a little more than planned, you don’t need to stress about updating the plan manually.
Packed with Suunto sports expertise
True to Suunto’s sports expertise, Suunto 3 Fitness is ready for all your sports from running, swimming and cycling to gym training, hiking and many more. The watch uses wrist-based cadence for measuring speed and distance in walking and running activities, which means that you can track speed and distance also indoors.
Wrist heart rate measurement by Valencell Inc. ensures ease-of-use, and 30-meter water resistance means you can take Suunto 3 Fitness for a swim without a worry. The watch offers a 5-day battery life with 24/7 activity tracking on.
Maintain a balance between activity and rest
The watch automatically counts your daily steps and calories, and easy-to-follow summaries offer a view of your overall activity, helping you balance activity and rest. Wear it at night to also track your sleep. In the sleep summary, you’ll see how long and how well you slept.
Additionally, the watch measures your stress and recovery throughout the day to help you ensure you have enough in the tank to make it through the day.
The sleep quality tracking, stress and recovery monitoring, and adaptive training guidance have been developed in close cooperation with Firstbeat Technologies, Suunto’s long-term partner in sports sciences.

Suunto 3 Fitness connects to the all-new Suunto app which logs all your activities, and keeps you up to date on your activity, sleep and overall fitness trends. Share memorable moments from your activities and engage easily with others in the Suunto app community.
Connecting to the Suunto app also enables speed and distance tracking and tracks your route, all based on your mobile device’s GPS. The smart mobile connection delivers incoming calls, messages and notifications to your watch. Suunto app will be available in the App Store and Google Play.
