PORTLAND, Ore. (November 11, 2019) — KEEN, Inc. (KEEN), the Portland, Oregon-based brand on a mission to create original and versatile products, improve lives, and inspire adventures outside, is fusing its outdoor heritage with progressive styling in its fall/winter 2020 collection of lifestyle footwear. KEEN’s new styles for everyday adventures include the Oregon City casual collection for women and new silhouettes and waterproof offerings in the Highland crossover sneaker for men.
“As a brand, we see the outdoors as any place without a ceiling, and people in cities are looking for ways to connect with life outside—whether they escape for an hour or an afternoon. We want to help them make these everyday escapes happen more often, seven days a week,” says Monique Althoff, Sr. Product Line Manager for Lifestyle. “Our new lifestyle collection is designed for their out-the-door experiences and to help more people unplug and connect with their surroundings.”
Leading the way is the new KEEN Oregon City boot collection for women that offers year-round versatility. These casual styles bring together function and style with on-point colors and materials plus design elements that tie back to KEEN’s DNA. This style-conscious collection is also planet-conscious with pesticide-free Eco Anti-Odor, plus environmentally preferred suedes and oiled nubuck leather from LWG-certified tanneries that reduce chemical, water, and energy use. Built to last with full leather welts and a direct-attach PU midsole, it’s available in low (MSRP $150 USD), Chelsea (MSRP $170 USD) and boot (MSRP $180 USD)styles. The Oregon City collection is designed for comfortable, all-day wear, and it has an extremely durable, rugged TPU outsole that will perform on a variety of surfaces—from dirt road to sidewalk.
“Versatility is a driving force of product design at KEEN—both in terms of where you go and what you wear. We love giving our outdoor-inspired fans living in the city a durable, thoughtfully designed option that can go anywhere. Another KEEN one-shoe wonder that can do it all,” says Lisa Demarkis, Business Unit Director, Lifestyle and UNEEK.
On the men’s side, the successful KEEN Highland sneaker (MSRP $130 USD) is expanding with new designs made with environmentally preferred, LWG-certified premium leather. Available in sneaker, chukka, and mid silhouettes, it features a stretch collar lining for supreme, sock-like comfort, lightweight EVA underfoot and a PU insole for all-day support. The waterproof chukka (MSRP $150 USD) is a sneaker that can work year-round since it has a little more protection from the elements.
“The KEEN Highland is where weekday meets weekend. Our fans can feel connected to their outside lifestyle through all their everyday adventures, too,” says Rachel Treinen, Product Line Manager for Lifestyle. “It’s versatile and comfortable, with high-rebound cushioning, and a light, flexible feel—a total KEEN take on a sneaker.”
This new footwear collection will be available at keenfootwear.com and outdoor and sporting goods stores across the country in late summer 2020.
