Social Media Icon & Cycling Advocate Rides Coast-to-Coast

PORTLAND, OR – Green Theme International (GTI), the creators of PFC-free and water-free textile technologies, has just announced that Ryan Van Duzer, celebrity television host and cycling advocate, will be GTI’s newest brand ambassador. Van Duzer—or ‘Duzer’ as his fans affectionately know him—shares GTI’s mission for creating a socially and environmentally responsible world through leadership and innovation. Duzer (39) has recently embarked on a three-month unsupported cycling journey across the U.S. starting in Portland, OR and ending in New Paltz, NY. Throughout his journey, the Boulder-based cyclist hopes to unearth America’s hidden gems—the great people and inspiring stories that make us unique—simultaneously championing adventure cycling, healthy living, love, relationships and environmental activism.

The Distance Wind Shell breathes exceptionally well while keeping the rain out, which makes it perfect for hiking, bike commuting or any long-time exposure to the elements. GTI’s groundbreaking Aquavent finish uses a completely water-free production process which doesn't use any harmful PFC’s. Additionally, it doesn’t use any palm oil that causes rainforest deforestation in many parts of the world.

“I truly believe that this technology can be part of saving the world,” says Duzer, who has never owned a car and is committed to reducing his carbon footprint everyday by cycling to and from his destinations. “I'm proud to be aligning with such a forward-thinking company," he adds.

“Duzer represents the best kind of adventurer,” explains Brian LaPlante, GTI’s Director of Marketing, who recently tapped Duzer to become the company’s brand ambassador. “He’s in line with GTI’s values and our company’s global environmental and social mission. We’re excited to have him as our ambassador and we’re rooting for him on this challenging ride across the United States,” he adds.

Beyond his work as a celebrity television host (Travel Channel, National Geographic and Men’s Journal), Duzer is an accomplished adventure cyclist and has completed previous endurance rides across the U.S. and through Central America. He’s also been featured on the Discovery Channel’s Out of the Wild reality series where he had to survive extreme jungle life in the Venezuelan outback. Moreover, fans know Duzer for his high quality, often vulnerable and sometimes hilarious YouTube videos, which have made him a social media luminary and standout influencer of his generation.
