Green Theme International™ Launches Revolutionary New Aquavent™ Technology At OR-SIA Show
Portland, OR. - January 23, 2018
Green Theme International™ (GTI), the creators of sustainable and water-free textile technologies, is launching its proprietary new Aquavent™ Breathable Water Protection™ finish at the 2018 Outdoor Retailer + Snowsports winter trade show in Denver, Colorado (January 25-28). After five years of research and testing, GTI has developed an entirely water-free textile finishing process—for use on technical jackets, lifestyle and fashion clothing—without using a single drop of water. GTI’s new Aquavent™ technology also completely eliminates harmful PFC’s and outperforms existing C6, C8 and PFC-free DWR’s.
“The outdoor industry has been demanding more sustainable products and technologies for years,” explains Brian La Plante, GTI’s Director of Marketing. “We’re incredibly proud of Aquavent™ and excited to finally usher in this long-awaited revolutionary technology,” says La Plante, who will be attending the Outdoor Retailer + Snowsports show combo with GTI’s executive team.
Powered by GTI & Aquavent™
Poised to change finished fabrics in the technical apparel and garment industries worldwide, GTI’s Aquavent™ technology will be featured in Marmot’s new EVODry collection, which will presented at the Outdoor Retailer + Snowsports show. In addition, GTI is in meaningful discussions with top outdoor industry brands for future product collaborations.
“Aquavent’s clean and PFC-free technology will make any waterproof and breathable fabric better, creating a whole new definition of water protection,” explains La Plante, who wants to see Aquavent powering the best outdoor clothing, fashion and lifestyles brands in the world.
GTI Water Free | Agents of Change
“The textile industry has quietly been polluting trillions of liters of water every year, making it the second largest water polluter in the world,” explains GTI’s co-founder and CEO, Martin Flora, who formed GTI with a mission-aligned team in 2016.
“The cause of so much polluted water on our planet is hanging in our closets,” adds Flora, who spent years working as a designer in the fashion and sporting goods industries and has observed the growing concern.
On Tuesday, January 23, 2:00pm at the Hilton Denver City Center, Flora will be a featured speaker during the Outdoor Industry Association’s Sustainability Working Group (SWG) for the Safer Made Material & Chemistry Innovation panel discussion. The working group hopes to tackle complex issues surrounding global supply chain sustainability, partnerships, chemical reductions and many other topics.
“We’re currently not manufacturing textiles responsibly or sustainably,” adds Flora. “It’s GTI’s clear mandate to be the leading change agent inside the industry’s practices, adopting clean and water-free manufacturing technology – now and into the future.”
