GU Energy Labs Announces Newest Products

GU Energy Labs today announced the release of two new delicious products: Chocolate Peanut Butter Energy Gel and Black Cherry Chomps.

Chocolate Peanut Butter is the follow-up flavor to the hugely successful Salted Caramel Gel, released in mid-2013, and is the newest “GU Gives” flavor. GU Gives is the ongoing philanthropic arm of GU Energy Labs, and a portion of each sale of Chocolate Peanut Butter Gel goes towards funding important charities like the Challenged Athletes Foundation. The new flavor also includes elevated electrolytes, with 125 mg of sodium and 60mg of potassium.

Black Cherry Chomps are based on the original GU Energy formula and are an optimized blend of carbohydrates, GU’s proprietary amino acid blend, and full servings of both Vitamin C and E. A full-serving packet will provide 180 calories and 46 grams of carbohydrates.

“We’re continuously working to innovate and optimize nutrition to fuel our athletes for performance,” said Magdalena Boulet, Vice President of Research and Product Development. “Chocolate Peanut Butter and Black Cherry Chomps will help to continue to offer a variety of flavor with the same great easy to digest sustainable energy.”

GU Energy Labs has been the benchmark brand in convenient, scientifically-proven energy products for athletes since 1993. Featuring sustainable energy release, GU Energy provides the necessary nutrients and compounds for optimum athletic performance. Since the inception of GU Energy, the company continues to expand its range of products, incorporating the latest scientific research and helping athletes fuel their performance.

The Chocolate Peanut Butter Energy Gel and Black Cherry Chomps are now available in-store and online, with the gels’ MSRP of $11.60 for a box of eight and the Chomps MSRP of $31.75 for a box of 16.
