Goal Zero Launches Award Winning Solar Speaker at CES

LAS VEGAS (January 8, 2013) – Goal Zero, leader in portable power, was named an Innovations Award Honoree at 2014 CES for its newly launched Rock Out2 Solar Speaker. As one of the most rugged, long-lasting Bluetooth® solar speakers on the market, Rock Out2 Solar ensures incredible sound from any phone, tablet or music device.

“Being recognized at CES for Rock Out2 Solar is an honor," said Joe Atkin, president and CEO of Utah-based Goal Zero. "Rock Out2 Solar marries one of our most-loved products, the Rock Out Speaker, with what we do best, solar that works. The result, Rock Out2 Solar, is the most rugged, durable, solar speaker on the market, and ensures no matter where adventure takes you, great music can follow.”

Rock Out2 Solar Speaker was engineered so you never have to plug it in. The highly efficient solar panel ensures music plays all through the day, and even when the sun sets, an advanced battery continues amplifying tunes for over 20 hours on a single charge. Rock Out2 Solar also recharges quickly from any USB port via a built-in cable.

Like its predecessors, Rock Out2 Solar’s durable exterior is designed to handle whatever mother nature throws your way and includes a bungee system for attaching to bikes or climbing gear. In addition to a built-in auxiliary cable, Rock Out2 Solar boasts easy-pairing Bluetooth™ controls for a wireless listening experience.

Goal Zero is also unveiling the new Sherpa 100 Power Pack, an upgrade of the CES award-winning Sherpa 50. The Sherpa 100 is a lightweight, airplane-ready power pack that can charge portable devices via high-speed USB, 12V, patented laptop ports, or AC inverter. Sherpa 100 is available now for $349.99.

Rock Out 2 Solar Speaker will be available in early summer 2014 and retails for $129.99. Goal Zero’s line of rugged, reliable, portable power will be on display at booth No. 31133 in the Las Vegas Convention Center's South Hall 3.
