Astral takes a stand for the environment one product design at a time, and the Spring ’19 collection is no exception. The brand will step into 2019 with an even lighter ecological footprint, and flesh out their sustainable approach to performance casual footwear by unveiling three stylish new additions to their line of hemp shoes: Hemp Baker, Hemp Loyak and Hemp Maria. Astral knows that life is full of adventure, but it also has a casual side, and hemp is here to change the game.

Astral is on a mission to produce products in the least toxic, lowest impact way. The company knows that hemp is the ultimate performance fiber for their designs with its naturally antimicrobial, durable and breathable properties. It’s grown without pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers. This sustainable fiber brings a unique and eco-friendly twist to the lifestyle footwear market.

Founder and CEO of Astral, Philip Curry says, “Hemp is an excellent alternative to cotton, leather or polyester for lifestyle footwear. It is durable, breaks in beautifully, and is naturally anti-microbial. The fact that it requires 1/3 of the water to grow (vs. cotton), has 3 times better yield per acre and does not need synthetic chemicals to grow make it an obvious choice for Astral and our conscientious customers.”

New to Astral’s growing collection of performance casual footwear, the Hemp Baker, Loyak and Maria mix style, performance and sustainability to create comfortable everyday shoes. Durable and naturally odor-resistant Hemp Canvas is stitched to a flexible and grippy G®Rubber outsole on the Hemp Baker, which is an everyday slip-on (MSRP: $90). Astral’s best seller goes hemp with the Hemp Loyak, which combines a super soft Hemp Canvas upper and low profile, high performance G®Rubber outsole to give you more function and fun (MRSP: $100). Be ready for travel, dinner out on the town and unexpected adventures. Last, but certainly not least, Astral’s Hemp Maria slip-ons are made with beautifully detailed stitching on hemp uppers. The outsoles are made from Astral’s proprietary no slip G®Rubber. Walk with ease and good vibes in the Hemp Maria (MSRP: $90).

Astral’s line of hemp footwear will hit retail shelves and the streets Spring 2019. Get a sneak peek at the upcoming Summer Outdoor Retailer in Denver, CO at Astral’s booth #36018-UL. For more information, contact Julie Bacon at
