(OAKLAND, CA) – On Saturday August 9th, at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Show, the present and future of U.S. climbing royalty will descend upon AMK's booth (#9019). Dave Hahn, fresh (though no doubt still sleep-deprived) from his record 10th summit of Mt. Everest, and Jordan Romero, the 12 year-old climbing phenom who is vying to become the youngest person to climb the seven Summits, will be in AMK's booth between 5 pm and 6 pm, signing limited edition full-color posters and helping raise money for local youth organization Trips for Kids and national conservation organization Leave No Trace.

Hahn and Romero will be promoting AMK's “Golden Ticket Giveaway” – a contest that offers all show attendees the chance to win one of six Southwest Airline ticket vouchers worth $250. Those lucky folks who purchase one of AMK's new Travel Medic Kits for $5 (MSRP$10) that contains a Golden Ticket will instantly win one of the vouchers. Buyers* will receive their first kit for free but can purchase additional kits to increase their odds of winning. AMK will donate 25% of all proceeds to Trips for Kids, a national non-profit group that organizes mountain biking trips for economically disadvantaged youth in major cities across the U.S., including Salt Lake, and Leave No Trace, an organization that promotes outdoor education and conservation. Salt Lake residents can also contribute to the fundraising cause. AMK will make Travel Medic Kits, which won't be in stores until next year, available for purchase for the duration of the show (Aug. 8th to Aug. 11th) at www.adventuremedicalkits.com.

“If you work in the Outdoor industry travel is in your blood,” says AMK co-founder and Marketing Director, Frank Meyer, adding, “The Golden Ticket Giveaway is not only a great vehicle through which to celebrate the inner explorer in all of us, but to support two worthy causes that encourage others to do the same.”

For Trips for Kids, the event and the association with AMK and high-profile athletes like Hahn and Romero will make it easier to realize its mandate in the Salt Lake area.

“The money raised from the show will go directly into programs that will get local kids, who otherwise wouldn't have the means, off of the couch and active in the outdoors,” says TFK founder and director, Marilyn Price.

While welcoming the funds that the event will raise, for Leave No Trace, “the chance to partner with AMK, a company that's committed to responsible travel, can only help to further our goals of increasing conservation awareness,” says LNT deputy director, Susy Alkaitis.

Concurrent with the Golden Ticket Giveaway, AMK will be unveiling its new eco-friendly Travel Series. Consisting of four kits, including the Travel Medic, Suture Syringe Medic, Smart Travel and World Travel, the series is comprised of carbon neutral and recyclable materials, and contains custom components and tools designed to help travelers stay healthy regardless of what corner of the world they're journeying to. Ranging in price from US$10.00 to US$75.00, the Travel Series will hit store shelves in January '08.
