Oakland, CA - On August 9th, Adventure® Medical Kits, the leading developer of adventure, survival and first aid gear for outdoor enthusiasts, will be holding its first annual “Outdoor Retailer All Stars Bash.” The event, which will be held in AMK's booth (#12019) at The Outdoor Retailer Summer Show, in Salt Lake City, UT, will bring together a who's who of outdoor industry athletes and personalities to help raise money for the Continental Divide Trail Alliance, an organization dedicated to the completion, management and protection of the Contiental Divide Trail.

Outdoor industry luminaries attending the event include author and world renowned mountaineer Ed Viesturs (the first American to climb 14 mountains in the world higher than 8,000 meters), adventure racing champ Rebecca Rusch, adventure climber Heidi “Almighty” Wirtz, as well as members from the 2007 Adventure Racing World Champs Team Nike. The All Stars will be on hand to sign books, posters, limited edition Team Nike Jerseys and AMK's specially priced Ultralight & Watertight .9 first-aid kits. Attendees will be able to purchase the kits ($15 each) from AMK as well as autographed hardbound copies of Ed Viesturs latest book No Shortcuts To The Top (Random House; $20) at the event. AMK will donate all proceeds to the CDTA.

AMK will use the funds raised from the All Stars Bash to underwrite Wilderness First Aid (WFA) courses for the CDTA's crew leaders. The WFA course will provide CDTA staff with two days of intensive training in how to assess and deal with any medical emergency they might encounter in the wilderness.

“Since forming the company 18 years ago, our goal has always been about giving people the tools and knowledge they need to be safe in the outdoors -- to go further, faster, longer,” said AMK marketing director and co-founder Frank Meyer. “Through this commitment to the CDTA,” he added, we're keeping that promise and taking it one step further.”

In addition to the WFA training, AMK will also be providing the CDTA with a variety of its top-selling first aid and survival gear.

“AMK's generous donation to the Continental Divide Trail Alliance will have a real impact on the safety of our staff as well as the thousands of outdoor enthusiasts who use the Trail each year,” said CDTA executive director Bruce Ward.
“As we continue to expand the Trail, safety has to remain a top priority; this partnership with Adventure® Medical Kits will ensure that's a reality.”

AMK's Outdoor All Stars Bash will begin at 3:15 pm, Aug. 9th. A variety of Utah's finest brews will be available for quaffing. So come hoist a few, rub shoulders with your favorite outdoor celeb and support a great cause!
