When I’m on an expedition and far from medical care, I feel more confident when I carry Adventure Medical Kits. You never know what illnesses and injuries might come up. It’s reassuring to know that I can take care of myself and others,” said Kim Havell, mountaineer and adventurer. “I’ve skied on all seven continents and explored in over fifty countries. Adventure Medical Kits are convenient to take along and stocked with everything I might need.”
Available in April 2017, the Mountain Series provides peace of mind with the highest quality kits for adventures near and far. The Mountain Series includes: the Mountaineer; Guide; Explorer; Backpacker; Hiker; and Day Tripper Lite first aid kits. Ranging in price from $15 to $200, the kits are fully equipped for day hikes, multi-day backpacking trips or expeditions.
Geared towards recreational and weekend hikers, the addition of the Day Tripper Lite and the Hiker offer retailers a competitive price point. The Day Tripper Lite, $15, weighs a mere three ounces and is the perfect kit for those looking for a day in the woods solo or with a friend. Super-compact and ultra-light, the Day Tripper Lite is an essential for any day hike. The Hiker, $25, is built for two people for two days out on the trail. The Hiker is a solid, compact, lightweight solution for the basic first aid issues one might encounter along the trail.
Housed in a new trapezoidal shaped bag design with darting to provide increased volume, all of the kits feature 2X PU-Coated 420 Denier Nylon that protects the contents from outdoor elements. The back of the kits now have an exclusive kit map that lists all supplies and clearly shows where they are located in the kit. The interior pockets utilize semitransparent, lightweight Nylon material and are organized and labeled by injury to help kit users quickly find what they need. The Mountain Series kits are filled with quality components including treatments like After Bite®, QuikClot®, Easy Access Bandages® Glacier Gel® and After Burn®.
The Mountaineer, Guide, and Explorer are the most comprehensive kits in the line and include The Comprehensive Guide to Wilderness & Travel Medicine by Adventure Medical Kits’ co-founder Dr. Eric Weiss. Now in the fourth edition, the guide exemplifies Dr. Weiss’ ability to adapt emergency medical techniques into outdoor settings. The guide Includes: "Weiss Advice" improvised techniques; "When to Worry" tips; 97 illustrations; recommended prescription medications; medical supplies for extended expeditions; and information on how to use the components of an Adventure Medical Kit. The Hiker and Backpacker kits come with a new condensed and lighter version of Dr. Weiss’s book, featuring information on the most common to serious types of injuries backpackers and hikers may encounter. The smallest kit, The Day Tripper Lite, comes with Adventure Medical Kits’ recently published, Quick Guide to Wilderness First Aid.
