180s SPONSORED ATHLETE, MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER ROOKIE MILOS KOCIC, SECURES FIRST WIN AS D.C. UNITED’S GOALKEEPER
BALTIMORE, MD. (March 11, 2009) – 180s, (www.180s.com), a brand committed to creating innovative performance accessories and apparel, today announced its sponsorship of major league soccer rookie and D.C. United goalkeeper, Milos Kocic. As a spokesperson for the 180s brand, Kocic is working closely with the 180s design team to develop a new line of 180s soccer-specific products launching in 2010.
“Milos symbolizes 180s’ spirit with a committed passion for his sport, determination and a strong work ethic,” said Keith Scully, marketing director for 180s. “Milos’ expertise paired with our design team’s capabilities will make for a successful product launch in 2010.”
Kocic, a native of Serbia, moved to the United States in 2004 in hopes of pursuing his dream of becoming a professional soccer goalkeeper. After one season of his collegiate career at St. John’s University, Kocic transferred to Loyola College in Maryland, where he started 23 games and secured 17 shutouts, earning a first-team All-Conference honor and the Tournament MVP award. In January 2009 Kocic was selected as a second round draft pick for D.C. United, where he made his rookie debut last weekend against FC Dallas.
