IHRSA International Convention & Trade Show

March 19-22, 2013

Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nev.

Register now at the event’s website. Click here for more information.

Though IHRSA is geared toward commercial establishments like gyms and training studios, it’s a fun event to see the technology that eventually will make its way to consumer equipment. This year there’s a brand new app, available on the iTunes App Store, that will help show goers navigate the floor. Organizers say the March show has already attracted more exhibitors than previous years and the schedule will bring new exercise classes on some new equipment, plus a new educational program called the IGNITE Form, slated for March 22. Speakers will have 5 minutes and no more than 20 slides to share on their topic of choice (business, personal, inspiring, entrepreneurial, etc), so attendees will get a wide range of information.

April 11-14, 2013

Cologne Exhibition Center, Koeln, Germany

Register now. Click here for more information.

Many of you might not have the travel dollars available to head abroad for your trade show experience, but if you do, FIBO could be for you. Germany’s commercial show is a good place to see some awesome equipment designs that you might not find at the North American trade shows.

Health & Fitness Business Expo

Sept. 18-19, 2013

Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nev.

Register starting May 2013. Click here for more information.

The show that focuses on home and light commercial equipment will remain in Vegas, but in a new convention center: The Mandalay Bay Convention Center. In previous years, the event was held at the Sands Expo. The reason for the move, show organizers told us, was because the corresponding Interbike had outgrown the Sands Expo. Some of the perks of the new location include being closer to the airport and closer to non-casino hotels like the Fairfield Inn and Residence Inn.

Club Industry

Oct. 24-25, 2013

McCormick Place, Chicago, Ill.

Pre-register now for 50 percent savings. Click here for more information.

After a Las Vegas vacation for the 2012 show, which brought lower attendance numbers, Club Industry will return to its hometown of Chicago this year. The show focuses on gyms and other commercial establishments. This year’s show seemed to be a little light on equipment and more focused on nutrition, supplements, accessories and workout apparel. There was even a fun fashion show last year featuring products from Brooks and Greenlayer Sports.

Athletic Business Conference & Expo

Nov. 21-23, 2013

San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, Calif.

Registration opens July. Click here for more information.

Athletic Business Conference & Expo focuses on public commercial facilities like municipal recreation centers, school facilities, country clubs, police and fire departments and resorts and hotels. With the increased focus on light commercial equipment, this show might be a good bet for those retailers who specialize in both.
