At the United Nations Climate Action Summit on Monday, Greta Thunberg in a fiery speech condemned world leaders for their denial and inaction on climate change. She accused them of stealing her dreams and her childhood with their "empty words" and by prioritizing "fairytales of economic growth."

The 16-year-old environmental activist has become the figurehead for today's youth fighting climate change. She led a youth climate strike in more than 160 countries and is one of 16 children who filed a landmark complaint against 5 nations over the climate crisis through the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
