Founders of Zeal Optics, Michael and Wink Jackson know all about hard work and success. Both professional and world-ranked mountain bike racers and elite-level triathletes, they are known for their athletic prowess They are also being celebrated for their extensive line of innovative performance eyewear. Specifically, the Zeal Optics' Maestro, a performance sunglass that won the 2006 Outside Buyer's Guide, “Gear of the Year”

The April issue features hundreds of new adventure-sport-related products with outstanding technical performance and design. Editors at Outside used a multi-tester system, where more than 50 experts “pound, stretch, pull, and pummel everything from tents to trail runners” in order to select the best. With comprehensive reviews of nearly 400 proven products, the 2006 Outside Buyer's Guide is the authoritative handbook for the latest active-lifestyle gear and apparel.

The Maestro, featuring ZB-13 polarized polycarbonate lenses, won the Editor's Choice in the sunglass category. The sepia tint enhances visual clarity and provides enhanced depth. With full wrap vision, the Maestro protects from wind and sunlight. The form fit silicon nose pads are adjustable and the lenses are Rx'able. While the Maestro fits nicely in a biker's helmet, the performance shades are great for snow sports and stylish enough to kick back in town.

Product designer Michael Jackson enthuses, “The Maestro is an unbelievable pair of eyewear that combines comfort, quality, style and protection. Our own ZB-13 lens technology blends the finest and latest materials and technology to ensure the best possible experience. We have participated in a variety of sports ranging from freestyle skiing to mountain biking. Wink and I know what it takes to satisfy the eyewear needs of the core athlete on every level. Quality fit, design and materials are essential to create Zeal eyewear for our customers who expect more. We are thrilled to have received this honorable recognition from Outside.”
