WIGWAM® SPONSORS JOHN HOPF'S ADVENTURE THROUGH APPALACHIAN TRAIL

SHEBOYGAN, Wis., Jan. 6, 2009 — Wigwam is proud to sponsor John Hopf in his mission to create awareness and provide support to the people of developing countries who don't have access to a basic human need: water. Hopf has teamed up with the Hike4Water organization, whose mission is to make the fight for clean water a household name. Hopf's journey, to begin March 22, involves a five - to seven month - hike through 14 states, totaling 2,175 miles and five million steps! John will be completely outfitted in Wigwam products and will carry everything else he needs on his back. Wigwam will be tracking Hopf's adventure at www.wigwam.com.

“John is the quintessence of what Wigwam considers to be a warrior,” said Margaret Chesebro, Field Marketing Manager of Wigwam Mills, Inc”. He is pushing himself to the limit and we are thrilled to be fitting him with reliable products that will help him successfully complete his adventure.”

The thru-hike is a mental and physical expedition that not many people can say they have completed. Temperatures can range from the low teens to well over 100 degrees during the time that John will be traveling. To learn more about Hopf's journey, visit his blog at www.hike4water.blogspot.com.

“When planning to take five million steps, I need to take care of my feet ... so I wanted the best socks I could find. The socks are awesome,” said John Hopf. Wigwam will be supplying John with the Weather Shield socks for the first couple cold months, the Lite Hiker Pro for mild months, and Iron Man Fuel socks for the hot months.
