“American Hiking Society has an important mission in protecting access to our most beautiful outdoor recreational areas and spreading the word about the benefits of hiking and outdoor fitness,” said John Ford, Virtual Active's Founder and President. “We now operate in a digital media world and we are happy to help American Hiking in their efforts to better use media and technology to further their mission.”

“Hiking is the best nature-based activity that can lead to a lifetime of fitness and a stronger environmental ethic” said Gregory Miller, President of American Hiking Society. “We constantly seek creative ways to get Americans excited about hiking trails and the outdoors and look forward to using Virtual Active's media savvy to enhance our ability to promote and protect America's hiking trails.”
