Tim Tripp to Steer Finance at Oboz Footwear

Oboz -- the new footwear brand based in Bozeman, Montana -- has hired Tim Tripp to be the company's Vice President of Finance.

(July 30, 2008 – Bozeman, MT)—Oboz, the new footwear brand that launched last summer under the guidance of footwear veteran John Connelly, announced today that it has hired Tim Tripp as Vice President of Finance. Tripp assumes his duties on August 1, 2008.

Tripp comes to Oboz after eight years as Director of Finance at Simms, the fishing products manufacturer based in Bozeman, Montana. At Simms, Tripp had oversight of all finance, accounting, IT and human resources functions. During his eight-year tenure at Simms, the company doubled its revenue and more than doubled its number of employees.

“Tim can see Oboz through growth and transitions from small to big,” said Connelly. “His experience in finance and beyond will be essential to our smooth operations and efficiency, which in the end, benefits our retailers.”

Tripp, who enjoys hiking, camping, fishing and running said, “I'm thrilled to join Oboz on the ground floor and be able to see Oboz flourish. Oboz has clarity and they are excited and motivated toward their goals.”

Additionally, Tripp was a public accountant with Coopers & Lybrand in Boston, a corporate controller with a Laramie, Wyoming manufacturer of water monitoring equipment, and worked with the National Outdoor Leadership School. He earned his MBA and accounting degree at Northeastern University in Boston, and is a graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont. Tripp is a Certified Public Accountant.
