Daytona Beach, Fla. – Feb. 20, 2015 – After crisscrossing the planet last year in a quest to locate and catch unique bass species, the four GEOBASS anglers are back at it in 2015, as season two of the original online series sets to premiere on Friday, Feb. 20, at http://bit.ly/geobassbrz. This year, the guys – Thad Robison, Jay Johnson, Chris Owens and Brian Jill – will widen their fishing adventure, to locales including Brazil, Guyana, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, and even the wilds of Texas.

In season two, viewers will recognize some new friendly faces jumping into the action, including a cameo appearance by Bassmaster Elite Series Pro Casey Ashley in the premiere episode. Ashley joins up withGEOBASS to give some helpful tips prior to their journey to the Amazon River. Viewers can catch the series premiere with Ashley’s appearance online Feb. 20 – the same day Ashley will be battling it out on the water competing in the “super bowl” of bass fishing, the 2015 GEICO Bassmaster Classic in Greenville, S.C.

In the premiere episode, the GEOBASS team explores the Amazon River in Brazil, in search of the monstrous peacock bass that eluded them during their previous mission in Colombia. Missing fishing guides, high waters and more set the odds against the anglers’ quest. They call on a peacock bass fishing veteran, Casey Ashley, to help out.

“I fished for peacocks down there a few years back, with some success. When the guys called me for some advice, I passed on what I knew,” said Ashley. “Fishing for peacock bass is an incredible rush, hopefully these guys can experience the same jaw dropping action as I did."

Later in the series’ season, college bass anglers will have a chance to join the action. Costa is currently hosting a casting call, inviting college bass anglers to upload a 1-minute video illustrating why they would like to tag along on an upcoming GEOBASS adventure. The winner will fish alongside the GEOBASS team during one of their extreme journeys, and be part of a future episode.

“We started last season knowing basically nothing about bass fishing, and found we have so much more to learn on this crazy adventure. Fishing untouched, remote locations we didn't even know existed has most certainly knocked years off of all of our lives,” said Jay Johnson. “But with the help of some of our Bassmaster Elite Series angling friends, some incredible new fishing water opportunities, and the possibility of taking a few of our fans along for the ride, this season looks to be a radical year of exploring and seeing what’s out there.”

Costa serves as executive producer of the original series, bringing in other partners to support the effort, including CarharttGoProMountain Dew and Yeti.

“The GEOBASS guys inspire all of us to get outside of our comfort zones, and explore,” said Al Perkinson, vice president of marketing for Costa, and GEOBASS executive producer. “They risk it all to follow their passions and live their lives authentically. Their message, especially for young people, is to take time to explore, to find what you love, and to courageously follow your dreams. They’ve done it, and they’re having a blast.”

Viewers can watch all of the GEOBASS episodes online at http://bit.ly/geobassbrz. Thad Robison will host aCosta Twitter Takeover on Fri., Feb. 20, from 4 to 5 p.m. ET, chatting with fans about the premiere party happening at the Bassmaster Classic, answering questions and sharing what’s in store in the GEOBASS season ahead.
