Publish date:

HAVERHILL, Mass. (for immediate release) -- Swix athlete, River Radamus, recently took home the giant slalom gold medal at the 2020 Alpine Skiing U.S. Nationals held November 16-22 at Copper Mountain, Colorado. The men’s GS race, held on Tuesday, the 17th, saw a strong field of racers from across the country with a Podium that ended up being Radamus in first, Ryan Cochran-Siegle in second, and Patrick Kenney third. SWIX athlete George Steffey finished in 10th place.

“I'm thrilled to have earned the 2020 US GS title. I worked really hard this summer and it feels great to see the hard work starting to pay off,” Radamus says. “Moreover, I'm just grateful to be racing again. With everything going on right now, I feel lucky to be out there competing and pushing my limits. I hope to carry this momentum into the heart of the World Cup season.”

Radamus, a 22 year old member of the U.S. B Team, is from Edwards, Colo. and calls Ski and Snowboard Club Vail his home program. He’s represented the U.S. at the Youth Olympic Games where he’s won three medals, and is also a two-time World Junior Champion.

“We have watched River grow from a young promising racer to now, a National Champion,” says SWIX Alpine Director, Graham Lonetto. “The cool thing about River is, it’s just the beginning. He wants more and we are so happy to support him on his journey.”
