Boulder, Colo., and Perth, Western Australia, July 21, 2009 – Sea to Summit, a Perth-based company committed to developing innovative essentials for lightweight backpacking, adventure travel and outdoor pursuits, has been presented with two prestigious awards:

Despite its comparatively small size, Sea to Summit is a leader in the global outdoor industry and has been recognized for both its unique product design as well as successfully introducing innovation to its day-to-day business operations. It has won the coveted Backpacker Magazine Editor’s Choice Awards 2006 and 2007 in the U.S., and the brand is distributed globally to more than 30 countries.

Macartney-Snape thanked the many outdoor enthusiasts who use and sell Sea to Summit’s products and added: “The past 12 months have been dominated by the global financial crisis but our sales figures have shown that people still love getting outdoors, now more than ever, and seek out well made products that are innovative and made to last. We will endeavour to keep designing the best products to make adventures lighter, more comfortable and more sustainable.”

The winners of each Telstra Business Award category have progressed to the national awards in Sydney, where the overall winners will be announced on August 20, 2009.

Australia’s largest and most prestigious business awards program has been recognizing the achievements of small and medium enterprises for the past 17 years. Each finalist undergoes a rigorous self-assessment process, with their plans and processes assessed by a panel of independent judges.
