Sea to Summit introduces The Specialist™ Shelters – two state-of-the-art ultra-light shelters designed for technical outdoor pursuits where weight and performance is key. Ultra-light backpackers, cycle tourists, and sea-kayakers will appreciate The Specialist™ Shelters: the interior space and headroom of a tent with a lower overall weight and more compact size than many bivis.

Weighing just 625 grams / 21.8 ounces for the Solo and 846 grams / 29.7 ounces for the Duo, the Specialists are the lightest fully enclosable shelters in their class. They're easier to use than tarps; each Specialist comes with a set of 2 poles and 6 stakes made out of 7075 alloy for the best strength to weight ratio. They can also be pitched with a pair of trekking poles and natural anchors, so gram-saving enthusiasts can achieve a minimum packed weight of 445 grams / 15.7ounces for the Solo and 633 grams / 22.3ounces for the Duo.

The canopy is built of Pertex® Endurance, a 20D ultra lightweight waterproof breathable nylon fabric mated to a 15D waterproof nylon for the walls, vestibules and the floor.

Seam sealed throughout, the Specialist™ shelters offer weatherproof refuge while the breathable fabric and ventilation - via ultra fine mesh panel doors manage condensation effectively. Optional lightweight footprints made from Tyvek® are also available for added floor protection.
