Ride for Racial Justice Announces Final Ride of 2020 in Colorado Springs

Publish date:

DENVER (Oct. 7, 2020) – Ride for Racial Justice today announces its fourth and final ride-event of the season, to take place on Saturday, October 10 in Colorado Springs, Colo. As consistent with all three past events in Denver, Boulder and Fort Collins, this ride will aim to rally support in the fight against systemic racism in the sport of cycling and beyond.

The Colorado Springs ride is another chapter in achieving the organization’s goal to raise greater awareness of its mission across the Front Range of Colorado. Ride for Racial Justice’s mission is fueled by community rides which encourage diverse populations coming together in solidarity for visibility, powerful conversation, and human connection through cycling. In hosting one last end-of-season event, the organization looks to widen its reach and impact in the communities south of the Denver-Boulder area.

“Ride for Racial seeks to bring awareness around our mission and the impactful movement we represent in communities familiar and unfamiliar with our organization because that is ultimately how change happens,” said Ride for Racial Justice co-founder Marcus Robinson. “With our next ride in Colorado Springs, we hope to bring the unique energy of our previous rides to the communities south of Denver and build a lasting legacy throughout the Front Range of Colorado as we look forward to announcing exciting news around our programming and partnerships for the end of 2020 into 2021.”

Ride for Racial Justice Colorado Springs will take place on a safely marked 10-mile route from 10 a.m-12 p.m., and will start at Memorial Park at 1605 E. Pikes Peak Ave. Ride for Racial Justice founders and board members will begin remarks at 10 a.m. Participants are asked to wear a facial covering and bring a helmet. All participants are responsible for maintaining six feet of distance between themselves and other riders. These measures will collectively ensure the well-being of the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
